We are looking for submissions of ideas for artwork and writing from current and former erotic dancers with an emphasis on those in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest. Chosen contributions will be compensated from the grant funds. For more information follow this link and apply! https://bit.ly/GRIND3_Submit
We are also looking for folks interested in working on the advisory/production team. This small group will choose submissions, work with contributors to prepare them for publishing and contribute a small piece of writing or artwork. All meetings will be conducted online and participants will be paid an $800 stipend. More info at this link: https://bit.ly/GRIND3_Advisory
Each link contains more information, but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email. And share the links with your friends and dancer networks!
Submissions will be accepted until March 20. The advisory board will be chosen in early April, and the submissions in late April. Publication is planned for September 2022.
Like so many other things, finishing the magazine went on hold when the pandemic started as we all tried to figure out what COVID-19 meant for strip clubs and erotic dancing, our communities and our individual lives.
Once some of those things were clearer, we got back to writing. Of course the pandemic also influenced the content of this issue, whether that meant expanding previously drafted articles about traveling for work or writing completely new ones about switching to online sources of income. But we also found some time and space for more visionary content like self-care tips for dancers and imagining future transfeminist technologies. And though we couldn’t have the big photoshoot we’d planned, we still found some ways to include dancer photos, art and images.
